BARRY A. NELMS, M.D.
Barry Nelms attended Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. He then earned his M.D. from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. After performing a rotating internship at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston, he completed his Orthopedic residency program at the Baylor College of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals and was later awarded fellowship to study spine surgery at Baylor College of Medicine after 6 years of private practice. Dr. Nelms is Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is licensed to practice in the state of Texas. Dr. Nelms was a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, and was affiliated with the medical school from 1991-2005.

His current hospital affiliations include: Houston Orthopedic & Spine Hospital, The Methodist Hospital, St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, and Kindred Hospital.
